Baboon Sanctuary

 

  

We offer three tours that include a visit to the Baboon Sanctuary:

#1 Altun Ha and Baboon Sanctuary
Early morning departure from Belize City to the northern part of the country. Visit Altun Ha Maya
ruins, where the famous Jade Head of the Sun God was found. Tour continues after lunch and
sodas, then on to the site of the Baboon Sanctuary, where you can view the popular Howler Monkeys.

Tour ends in Belize City or place of pick up.

#2 Crooked Tree and Baboon Sanctuary
Early morning to departure to catch the early morning birds of Belize.  Tour to the northern part of
Belize to the Creole Village, Crooked Tree.  Walk around the village spotting the many species of
birds, view butterflies, iguanas, rat-bat, orchids, etc.  Have lunch and sodas at the village, after
which the tour continues to be Baboon Sanctuary with the unique, rasping sound of the howler
monkey that can be heard a mile away.  Tour ends in Belize City or place of pick up.

#3 Horseback Riding/Baboon Sanctuary
Early morning departure from Belize City to the northern part of the country. Passing several creole
villages that started out as logging communities to the Village of Bermudian Landing. There you will
do a 1-2 hours horseback riding thru the small surrounding communities, then a jungle trek to meet
the howler monkeys of the sanctuary. After which, you will have lunch, then back to Belize City.
